Parent Matt Lewis has sent in this write up from an U10’s perspective of Brightfest.
What a fantastic day - the sun was out and the rugby gods (with a little help from Brighty) were with the Warly U10’s - they were just amazing.
We all love watching the kids at this time of year as it’s now they bring everything they have learnt throughout the season and show how much fun they can have playing the game we all love so much.
Outstanding individual and team tries, some brilliant passing alongside some amazing support play and incredible tackling, rucking all within a fantastic team ethic where everyone just wanted their team to do well.
Team Stats
Played - 15 - W11 / L4
Tries - Warly 80 vs 48 (yes 80..!!)
??
As we sign off the last festival of the season I wanted to say a few thank you's.
Firstly thank you to Brighty’s family who came and supported the teams today.
Brighty would have loved every second of the festival and as we all know, would have been right in the middle of it all. His son, Barnaby, was just magnificent and was not only easily the highest try scorer of the day, but tackled all over the pitch setting up countless tries for his team ??.
Finally and on behalf of every parent, a massive thank you to the U10 coaches and all the support staff who make it all possible and who have ‘yet again’, just been brilliant all season.
