Under 11s took to Esher for their autumn tournament, just ahead of some biblical weather. Coach Andrew Elmes reports on the day's performance:

With half term, we were thin on coaches (!) and we had not quite enough for 2 teams and so had the great dilemma of a superbly strong squad with lots of clamouring subs, desperate to have a go.

With 4 games, against Reeds, Old Craneleighans, Wimbledon and Old Rutlishians, the hardest job was teaching the kids the name of the oppo for the 3 cheers!

Those clubs put out 4 big, skilled and tough oppositions and with very narrow pitches the players were forced to run up the middle, which was good for our discipline, and allied with some clever kick and chase kept the pressure off; but as usual the rucking made the difference securing the ball and creating the gaps, meaning Warly won every match.

In typical U11 style the squad welcomed and helped the 2 new players, Abi and Terry, to feel right at home and we saw some great tackles and runs from them both.

The player trophy went to Terry for fronting up to his first ever rugby game, the start of a promising career!
