A very hot and humid afternoon that Warlingham first team took to Old Tiffinians ground and you could tell by the first five minutes that this was going to be a very physical and demanding game in the heat of the September afternoon
Three more debut players were joining Warlingham ranks on this day Jamie Bradbury at 16 Sam Showering 17 and Charlie Brennand respectively at 18
Old Tiffs took an early lead with two penalties as both teams tried to dominate the centre of the pitch and both sides really put them selves on the line as each team fought for every inch of the ground with Warlingham clawing back a penalty kick by Joe McEvoy
Warlingham once again attack strongly drawing Old Tiffs off guard and with some quick hands put Harry Spencer on direct running towards Old Tiffs five-yard line passing to Funsho Ajayi for a corner try
A very tight game with both teams jostling to capitalising each other mistakes or defensive work Old Tiffs pack was very strong and it took all Warlingham inner strength to compete with them during the opening half under blistering heat and as the first half drew to a conclusion a well work try by Old Tiffs without conversion ending the first half both teams drawing 11-11
The second half once again started with both teams probing for a chance to take advantage of but it was Old Tiffs who were to put the first points on Warlingham with a well worked try and conversion Warlingham seem straight away to be on the back foot and couldn’t get back its rhythm that they had through the first half
And as the second half continued Warlingham found them selves being pressed and having to defend more and more finally the penalties seem to be rolling up upon them and the torrent of points slowly building
Warlingham never gave up and played on even when it felt everything was against them which really showed the true character of this young side and even though Old Tiffs scored a try and a converted several penalties Wallingham never gave up and where finally rewarded by another well worked try by both forwards and backs with Harry Spencer and Joe McEvoy converting the final points of the match
