Warlingham U12s delivered an outstanding performance in difficult wet and muddy conditions to defeat Farnham 13-1 in their final Waterfall Cup pool match, writes coach Steve Dey.

Despite the heavy pitch and persistent rain, Warlingham played with great energy and teamwork from the opening whistle. The first half saw a dominant attacking display, with Charlie crossing for two excellent tries, while Jack G produced a superb hat trick. Stanley added a try of his own, with Christian and Joel also getting on the scoresheet. Showing excellent sportsmanship, Warlingham reduced their numbers to 10 players once the score reached 6-0, allowing for a more balanced contest while maintaining their intensity and discipline to take a commanding lead into the break.

The second half continued in much the same fashion, with Warlingham maintaining their effort despite the testing conditions. Jack G added another try to his tally, Woody powered over for a well-earned score, Stanley grabbed two more tries to complete a brilliant performance, and Christian finished the scoring with his second try of the match. Farnham showed great determination and were rewarded with a well-taken try of their own in the second half.

Joel was deservedly awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding work at the breakdown and his ferocious tackling throughout the game, setting the tone defensively for the team.

The 13-1 victory secures Warlingham top spot in the pool standings, meaning the team now progresses to the Waterfall Cup finals later this month in a fantastic position. A tremendous team effort in tough conditions and a fitting way to finish the pool stage. Congratulations boys!
