The club is proud to announce that eight of our U15 players have been selected to join Harlequins Academy training sessions this season.
Leighton Langridge, Jake Amer, Rocco Wild, Luca Smith, Danny Waterton, Harry Hayler, Bailey Carpenter, and Sam Duncanson (pictured left to right, above), made selection from 800 boys trialling across the region, with a further four boys invited back for a second assessment in early October after narrowly missing out at the first stage.
For the boys involved, Academy training takes place every other Monday, and while the season will largely focus on training, there may be a few Academy fixtures later in the year as part of the development process.
Importantly, all selected players will continue to play for Warlingham throughout this season. Academy involvement is an additional opportunity to test themselves in a higher-performance environment while still representing their club.
“It’s fantastic recognition for our boys,” said Nick Waterton, U15s Head Coach. “To have eight accepted and four more in contention is a huge achievement for the team and the club. It shows the strength of our group, and we’re excited to see how they develop.”
Congratulations to all the players involved - and to the coaches, parents, and teammates who have supported them on their journey so far. The whole club is behind you!
