Peacocks Strut Their Stuff at Reigate

Peacocks Strut Their Stuff at Reigate

Warlingham RFC

Sunshine, tight contests and plenty of camaraderie make for another cracking Walking Rugby day.

The Peacocks were back in festival action last Saturday, heading to Reigate Rugby Club for a brilliant day of Walking Rugby played in glorious sunshine beneath the North Downs.

The blended Peacocks squad (made up of players from Warlingham, Old Whitgiftian and Croydon) fielded two teams for the day, with some welcome reinforcements from Cranbrook helping to bolster the ranks.

There was no shortage of competitive rugby, with matches against teams from Reigate, Canterbury, Orpington, Guildfordians and Sutton, among others. Several games went right to the wire, with tight scorelines keeping things interesting until the final whistle.

As ever, though, the real appeal of Walking Rugby was just as evident off the pitch as on it. Great company, plenty of laughs, good-natured banter and a well-earned drink afterwards all added up to another excellent festival day.

A huge thank you to Reigate for hosting, to Cranbrook for joining forces with us, and to all the teams who made the day such good fun.

If you fancy a new fitness and wellbeing obsession, with a healthy dose of rugby camaraderie thrown in, the Peacocks are always happy to welcome new players.
