She's only gone and won it! After several rounds of voting, Warlingham's very own Hayley Sasserath has been crowned the winner of England Rugby's Community Rugby Gallery photography competition!
Thanks to an incredible show of support from the Warly community, Hayley secured a whopping 1,770 votes, earning herself a fantastic opportunity to photograph England v Japan at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, on Saturday 14th November.
The competition saw community rugby photographers from across the country go head-to-head in a series of public votes, with Hayley progressing through each round before emerging victorious in the final.
A familiar face on the touchlines at Warlingham, Hayley has spent countless hours capturing the action, emotion and togetherness of grassroots rugby, giving players and families wonderful memories to look back on. Now, she'll have the chance to turn her lens on some of the biggest names in international rugby!
Hayley was quick to thank everyone who helped make it happen:
“I’m so grateful to everyone who took the time to vote and show their support. I’m amazed by the 1,770 votes I received and feel very lucky to be part of such a great Warly community. Thank you all for helping make this happen - I can’t wait to photograph England v Japan on 14th November!”
It's a thoroughly deserved reward for someone who spends so much of her time celebrating the achievements of others, often from behind the camera rather than in front of it.
A huge congratulations from everyone at Warlingham, Hayley! And an equally big thank you to every member, friend and family member who took the time to vote and spread the word.
We can't wait to see the results of your big day at Twickenham!
From Warly to Twickenham: go smash it, Hayley!
