Last weekend our Minis section took the short journey to South Croydon for the Old Whitgiftians Festival. Here with a report on how our youngest teams got on, is U7 coach Owen Williams.
Our Under 7s teams absolutely sparkled at the Old Whitgiftians Festival this weekend, proving that wet weather and muddy pitches are no match for enthusiasm!
Despite the rain and challenging conditions, every player showed incredible resilience and energy. They played some thrilling rugby, resulting in lots of tries scored thanks to their fantastic attacking and support play.
The festival was a perfect mix of players, from our seasoned pros leading the charge to some excited players playing in their very first festival. It was brilliant to watch the teamwork and commitment displayed by everyone on the pitch.
Crucially, while lots of lessons were learnt dealing with the slippery ball and muddy ground, the main focus remained on fun. Every child left the festival soaked, muddy, but full of smiles, laughter and a medal!!!!. A huge well done to the U7s for a memorable day!
