The U14s wrapped up the first half of their season with a trip to Old Beccehamians, fielding a mixed Warlingham squad against the Kent side, writes U14 Head Coach Scott Toomey.
From the outset, Warlingham set the tone and proved too strong for the home team on this occasion. Strong carries from Alfie and Seb laid the foundations for a well-balanced and mature team performance, while excellent defensive work in the backs from Kayin, Dec and Adam kept Becchehamians well away from our try line for most of the match. The hosts’ only score came via a penalty try awarded under questionable circumstances, but this was sensibly dealt with by the team, led superbly from the front by Mitch and Alfie.
A composed and committed display saw Warlingham run out 7-17 winners, a fitting way to close out the year. With the Waterfall Cup still to come, the U14s are well on track for an exciting and successful 2026.
Special mention also goes to the boys for ensuring the changing room was left exactly as they found it - model behaviour, and true leaders on and off the pitch.
Well done lads!
