Match Report - Sunday 18th October 2015
Pulborough v Warlingham U14A
0 - 43
From the starting whistle our kick-off saw a clean catch from their well built no.8 and a striking run deep into our defence going through several players before he was stopped. The ensuing scrum also was a walk over by their very physical looking pack and we groaned wondering if this was to be another tough day at the office.
However, fortunately, it was short lived with our boys reverting to type and piling on the usual pressure up front with the added feature of some really good ball moving out to the backs.
This was some of the best play we’ve seen from the Warly boys for a long time. We were dominating the scrums winning plenty of ball against the head. Sam Evans enjoyed a searing run up the middle and supported. Jediael caught some good ball and looked impressive, settling more and more into the team.
There was good linkage between forwards and backs with good backs handling throughout the game. Luca playing at fly half created some opportunities further along the line and space for Chris Lip to stretch his legs. Glenmore was extremely effective in defence and our no.1 tackler putting in some big hits and not letting the opposition get any room.
We could have been a little better with using our overlaps, and everyone rather than a few tackling low, but overall this was a great display of the boys efforts and concentration with good examples of doing the right thing in all passages of play. Well done everyone.
Tries from AJ, Matt West, Chris Lip, Luca and Louis.
