For the fourth year in succession the Warlingham Wizards- Warlingham's seven-a-side outfit, won the prestigious Cider Cup at the huge Bournemouth Sevens Tournament. With the competition littered with invitation VII's whose players generally play in National Leagues, Warlingham had their work cut out to progress through the tournament held over two days during the Jubilee weekend.
Being unbeaten in the Group stages Warlingham beat Beer Barbarians in the Quarter Final and Coleshill in the Semis. The climax was a Final clash against Sevenoaks in front of a huge 4,000 crowd. Despite a number of injuries, and feeling the effects of a taxing Saturday campaign, Warlingham ran out worthy winners 19 points to 7 with Ryan Keats being the top try scorer over the two days. After the tournament player/coach Tom Street said, "This is a really strong tournament but we've trained hard and have bonded well as a Sevens outfit. We've really put Warlingham on the map at this national competition."
