Warly Flies the Flag at Warlingham Fair

Warly Flies the Flag at Warlingham Fair

Warlingham RFC5 Jul - 15:00

A fantastic showcase for rugby, volunteering and community spirit.

A massive thank you to everyone who volunteered at this year’s Warlingham Fair.

The club had a fantastic presence throughout the day, with Minis & Junior coaches on hand to coax youngsters in to try their hand at rugby with our fun passing game, and some smaller home-spun activities too.

Our Women’s section did an outstanding job promoting female rugby and engaging with the local community. Their enthusiasm and energy helped introduce countless people to the opportunities available at Warlingham Rugby Club. So strong was the pull, even Chair of Tandridge Council Deb Shiner could be seen spinning some bullets into our target - let’s get her in the pack!

We’re incredibly grateful to every volunteer who gave up their time to help organise stalls, speak with visitors and represent the club. A special thanks goes out to Vicky and Andrew Lambton for all the work they put into creating some very attractive and fun games for passers-by to try - Blue Peter badges are in the post.

A special mention also goes to everyone involved in the ever-popular Tug of War, which once again proved to be one of the highlights of the day. It was fantastic to see so many members pulling together (literally!) and entertaining the crowds.

Events like Warlingham Fair play a huge role in connecting our club with the local community, and they simply couldn’t happen without the incredible support of our volunteers.

Thank you to everyone involved.
