A brilliant win from a resurgent Warlingham 2s side full of youthful promise, wisdom and experience and wholehearted commitment against familiar foes from up the road.
Academy players playing alongside their coaches, a father and son partnership in the back line, returning uni students and stalwarts of the club pulled on the blue and white. With 23 players available, Warlingham helped the oppo with a few players. Thank you to them, the spirit of social rugby was alive and well.
The rugby was sublime in this local derby. Creative kick and chases and open play delivered some excellent tries and all the players enjoyed the fun. Some great tackles on the line by Old Cats prevented further tries in this local derby. The side, led by Tom Gowers, can’t wait to get out for the next fixture after the Christmas break. Everyone is welcome to cry on and join the fun.
Special mentions go to man of the match Lamont Bryan for a strong performance alongside his son, Donte (who was also outstanding). James lynch was brilliant in the lineout and the loose. It’s great to welcome James back after injury. ADK and Gully who played really well for Old Cats. Try of the match goes to youngster Zion Dell, with a great pick up from a kick and racing over for a classy try.
A great day for the club. More to come!
